Become a Group Member

NWC’s work is rooted in our membership of almost 200 member organisations which strengthens our mandate and helps us to grow as a strong voice for women and women’s rights and equality in Ireland. We would very much value your participation as we continue to mobilise, influence, and build solidarity to ensure a feminist Ireland that is just and caring, where everyone thrives. By becoming a member of the NWC, you will be joining and working collectively with a diversity of women and women’s groups across the island of Ireland working towards women’s and girls’ equality. 

Your group can join NWC as a member if you fulfil the following criteria, you: agree with  NWC's Member Charter; have a minimum of 10 individual members; demonstrably seek to progress equality for women in the island of Ireland have been in existence for longer than a year; and agree to pay membership fees; fees for funded groups are €150 and €30 for unfunded groups.

Reasons to join NWC: affirm your organisation’s or group’s solidarity with the wider women’s movement; support us to represent the diversity of women’s lived experience; promote dialogue, reflection and debate; build solidarity and strengthening the intersectional women’s movement in Ireland, north and south; actively participate and shape NWC’s policies through a range of structures and processes; become centrally involved in our campaigns and advocacy work at all levels by voting on and submitting motions at our Annual General Meeting and putting forward nominations to our board after one year of membership; be part of our national reach - include information about your events/news on NWC’s website, on our social media platforms, and in our monthly Newsflash; receive the latest updates on our work and campaigns; and network with like-minded organisations and people. 

NB: A national organisation and group with multiple branches, which wishes to become a member, may choose to seek membership for its national organisation. Groups based outside the island with no focus of work on the island of Ireland are not eligible for membership.

Membership fees: Groups with funding: €150 per year (Fees for very large organisations may be higher - Union or Corporate Fees are €1,000), Groups without funding: €30 per year
